The Tribe Process

The Tribe process is an experiment in community design that explores opportunities to organize and plan human interaction and community in new ways. The aim is to form modern tribes that bring new elements of community and social interaction into the lives of their members. The goal is not to change one's own life dramatically, but to bring something more to your own life in a subtle way.

The tribe initiated by the process can be compared to the traditional family and the members of the family to relatives. In the same way that a family is often in the background in a person's life providing security and providing help and presence where necessary, the tribe can also become a support network for its members.

How do tribes function in practice?

The basic activities of the tribes include different meetings, both face-to-face and virtually. Each tribe plans their own activities independently, but it is recommended by the developers of the process that the tribe organizes a tribe meeting, for example, once a month, and smaller meetings whenever needed. The tribal meeting can be very informal and take place, for example, in a park, in a forest or in a nightclub, so that the members of the tribe are present as agreed, although not necessarily even with each other. Smaller tribe meetings refer to the casual meetings of about 2–7 tribe members, which can take place in a café, in nature or at home.

The rhythm of the meetings can be agreed for example so that each tribal member organizes a tribal meeting once a month and once a month attends another. The main purposes of both kinds of meetings are: communality in itself, presence and in-depth familiarity. Especially at a later stage, meetings may also have other content and goals, which can be decided within the tribe or suggested by the process developers.

The interaction between tribes and tribe members can take place spontaneously and in an indeterminate manner and/or through various inspiring and educational games that the tribal administration develops for tribes as a stimulus and entertainment. Some of the interactions can also be defined by a very practical need, for example, a trade from common car rides to childcare or bike repair. Tribes can organize trips, celebrations, or even the tribe's own rituals. The essential premise is that each tribe plans its own activities as they see fit and also democratically adjusts its intensity and focus. This design is provided by process developers with a variety of tools, such as special forms, that allow planning and voting to be done as lightly and quickly as possible.

List of potential benefits, actions and objectives of belonging in a tribe:

- the feeling of being part of a tribe

- community support and social activity

- tribal friendships

- entertainment and recreational activities (excursions, tours, celebrations, etc.)

- practical assistance (moving, transport, childcare, etc.)

- exchange of different skills and abilities of tribespeople

- therapeutic benefits and personal growth

- remote community (virtual presence)

- inspirational interaction methods, games and processes aiding personal growth offered by process developers

- participating in developing and experimenting in a new model of living

- the inter-tribal opportunities of the process

et cetera...

The Tribe process is therefore a real community, but at the same time entertainment. It is, to some extent, also as a formal structure equivalent of an association or a cooperative. Tribes can also decide among themselves to establish an association, for example, if there is a need for some form of formal activity. In this case, however, the tribe does not become an association, but is still a tribe that has also established an association.

In addition to its other goals, the Tribe process has been created at the level of principle to promote goodness, fairness and honesty and to increase the amount of love and caring in the world, and we hope that all participants will tune together accordance with this objective in the best of their abilities.

Welcome aboard!
